Stockholm-Västerås Airport, also known as Västerås Airport or Hässlö Flygplats Airport codes|VST|ESOW is located at the city Västerås, and about 110 km (68 mi) west of Stockholm, Sweden. It is located far outside the Stockholm Municipality and Stockholm County, but uses the name Stockholm-Västerås anyway.

Travel from the airport to Stockholm Central Station may be done via [http://www.peopletravel.se/en/koncernen/ Flygbussarna] , a private bus coach service, and takes approximately one and a half hours. Tickets cost SEK 130.

Incidents and accidents

*On September 1, 2002, the Ryanair Flight 685 from the Stockholm-Västerås Airport to London Stansted was delayed by several hours after a Swedish man of Arabic descent was detained after attempting to board the aircraft with a loaded gun in his hand luggage. The man said that he usually carries a gun and forgot to remove it from his handbag before this journey.
