lake (elevation approximately convert|8848|ft|m|abbr=on or 2,697 m) located in the Fishlake/ Southern Wasatch Plateau region of south-centralUtah ,United States . It lies within and is the namesake of theFishlake National Forest . The lake, five miles (8 km) long by one and a half miles wide at its widest point (8 by 2.5 km), lies in a geologic structure known as agraben valley. It is bounded by theMytoge Mountains on the south-east shore which rise sharply to over 1,000 feet (300 m) above the lake level. Along the north-west shore the lake is bounded by Fish Lake Hightop Plateau (elev. ~11,600 ft (~3,500 m)). Based on recent research the lake has an average depth in summer of about 100 ft (30 m) and has been found to be 127 feet (39 m) deep in its deepest known location. sport fishing —particularly its largelake trout (also known as mackinaw). Fish are caught every summer upwards of 25 lb (11 kg).Fact|date=February 2007 The region sees heavy snowfall in the winter, with snowfall occurring as late as June in any given year. For this reason tourist activity is at its peak in the summer months. Two-room lodges and RV spots are available for rental next to the lake.The nearest town is
Koosharem , UT, approximately 12 to convert|15|mi|km away (19 - 24 km). Larger cities within a one hour drive are Loa and Richfield. The lake is stocked by theUtah Division of Wildlife Resources fish hatchery in Glenwood.Pando, a quaking
