It's a second largest town afterBanswara in Banswara district.In late eighties many of the people left for gulf countries in search of jobs and that brought prosperity to the village. It has now turned into a town after merger of nearby villages like Garhi, Navapadar, Kheran ka Parda etc.There are three big Hindu temples (Purneshwar, Bhagoreshwar, LakshmiNarayan) and four Jain temples, two mosques for all Muslims of the area and two mosque for Bohras .
