Giorgi (Giga) Bokeria (born
20 April ,1972 ) is a Georgian politician and the current deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia.During 1989–1995 Bokeria was one of the leaders of student movement, in particular active member of Press Club of Tbilisi State University. Since 1992 he has been working as a journalist, in the newspaper "7 Dge" (7 Days), as a political editor of newspaper "Mimomkhilveli" (Observer) - 1992–1993, journalist of "Pikis Saati" (Rush Hour) program of "Channel 1" of State Radio -1993, journalist of

Levan Ramishvili ,Givi Targamadze andDavid Zurabishvili , Bokeria co-founded Liberty Institute, Georgian non-profit, non-partisan, liberal public policy advocacy foundation, taking a job of coordinating human rights programs and later – senior legal advisor.In 2003, after a visit to Serbia to study peaceful revolution techniques, Bokeria helped bring Serb activists from youth movement
Otpor to Georgia to train students in the same techniques. As a result, a youth movement "Kmara " was established, which played a leading role in the November 2003Rose Revolution . After the Revolution, Bokeria was elected to Parliament where he has authored a number laws to strengthen human rights in Georgia.Fact|date=February 2007He is a Member of Parliament since 2004. He is the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Legal Issues and is a Member of Committee on Defense and Security. Since 2005 he is Vice-President of the
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and vice-chairman of theAlliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe group in the assembly.
