- SimSig
SimSig is a free PC-based software simulation of modern UK
railway signalling systems, from the point of view of a railway signaller. Visually, it resembles theBritish Rail Integrated Electronic Control Centre , though most of the simulations do not cover areas operated by IECC-basedsignal box es.Although produced by signalling experts to ensure a high degree of realism, the simulations are usable by those without any in-depth or professional knowledge of signalling systems. Users can create their own timetables with the in-built editor. All simulations can be joined over the
Internet to share the workload. Some simulations can be linked together to form a chain of signal boxes for extended simulation, for instance, simulations of King's Cross, Peterborough and Cambridge areas.Railtrack asked for a "professional" version of SimSig, now known as TRESIM, which is currently used to train signallers at every (now)Network Rail IECC and several panel signal boxes aroundGreat Britain .External links
