- Djiguiya
Djiguiya is a musical group based on the traditional
music of Burkina Faso There are eleven members, included singers, dancers,percussionist s andbalafon players. Djiguiya is also an association devoted to helping children and the poor; their project's have included homeless shelters and job training. Most of the members come from the city ofBobo-Dioulasso , especially theDioulassoba andFarakan sectors. They are mostlyBobo , orSamo ,Dafi orMossi . Djiguiya's first album, "Sakidi", came out in 2003, though they had performed back to 1996, including at theCultural Week of Bobo Dioulasso andNuits Atypiques de Koudougou music festival s.Members:
