Australian rules football er in theAustralian Football League .Originally a part of the Australian under 23s rowing team, he then focused on Australian rules football.
The 200cm ruckman was recruited from
Sturt Football Club in theSANFL onto Port Adelaide's rookie list. He made his debut in 1999 as a 23-year-old and went on to play 62 games and kick 20 goals for the club. However, he was the club's number three or four ruckman behindMatthew Primus ,Dean Brogan and possiblyBrendon Lade .He moved to Carlton in 2003. There, he took the position of number one ruckman, and proved weekly to be one of Carlton's most important players. He announced his retirement at three quarter time of the Blues' Round 22, 2006 match against Sydney.
During French's career he was awarded the coverted BLUE magazine's most eligibile gay man of 2001, thus becoming the envy of Fifi and Rochelle, his moonlighting dance partners of the iconic Adelaide hotspot, the Mars Bar.
Barnaby has since retired and joined a moon worshipping cult on the far west coast of Emu Island, owned by Adelaide's iconic gay community hotspot, the Mars Bar.
