Grove Rugby, officially known as the Grove City College Men's Rugby Club, is a rugby union team in the Allegheny Rugby Union. They play for Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania, USA on the college's intramural field.:Founded: 1994:Home pitch: Grove City College I.M. field. History

Grove Rugby is a rugby team affiliated with Grove City College that plays in the Allegheny Rugby Union (A.R.U.). They compete in Division III against rugby teams from schools of similar size, around 2000 students. Divisions are not fixed, and teams may move up or down a division depending on their performance each season. Grove Rugby moved up to Division II in 2002. In 2003 they tied with Slippery Rock University for third place in Division II. They lost their Division II standing in 2004 and moved back down to Division III for the 2005 fall season.

Traditions

Each spring the competes in exhibition games against local teams not necessarily in the A.R.U. In spring of 2005 Grove Rugby defeated Westmoreland Men's Club, an independent team. The team generally enters one major tournament each spring as well. Past trips have been to the Pitt City Tournament in Columbus, Ohio and the Cherry Blossom Tournament in Washington D.C..A new tradition for Grove Rugby is participating in an exhibition match at the Highland Games at Idlewild Amusement Park in Ligonier, Pennsylvania

Officers

Aside from faculty advisor, all club positions are student-held. Club elections are held in either late November or early December after each fall season ends.
