Alexander Alexandrovich Bolonkin (born
March 14 ,1933 in the former USSR) is an American scientist. He holds a PhD. in aerospace and is a professor, specializing in aviation, aerospace, mathematics, and computers.He was granted a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in aviation engines by Perm Aviation College, a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in aviation by Kazan Aviation Institute, a M.S. in mathematics by Kiev University, a Ph.D. in Space and Control Sciences by Moscow Aviation Institute, a Postdoctoral Degree in Cybernetic by
Leningrad Polytechnical Institute (USSR). Worked in the Soviet aviation, space and rocket industries, and lectured in Moscow Universities.In 1972 he was arrested by the Soviet secret police (
KGB ) for intent to instigate democracy in the communist regime, listening to the "Voice of America " and reading and disseminating works of academician A.D.Sakharov and writerAleksandr Solzhenitsyn . He spent 15 years in Soviet concentration camps and in exile. He was tortured extensively by the KGB. For example, the KGB kept him for more than one year in light clothes in a cold punishment cell, provided only one pound of old bread per day with water along with 3 years in a special prison. In early "perestroika " (1987), he was released by the KGB and gained entry into the USA as a political refugee.In the USA he lectured at American Universities, worked at
NASA and in the scientific laboratories of the USA Air Force as a Senior Researcher from the National Research Council. He has authored more than 170 scientific articles and books (most of them published in the USA) and 17 patented inventions. He suggested a method of re-writing the main information of human brain onto chips and the electronic immortality of people 1-3 ."Human Immortality and Electronic Civilization". Bolonkin suggested and developed the theory of a cable space launcher, a hypersonic tube launcher, a kinetic anti-gravitator, a multi-reflex propulsion device with engine, space towers, an electrostatic space sail, a ramjet electric space propulsion device, a cable aviation device, etc.4-10.
