Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster

The Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster is a replica of the guitar used by Swedish heavy metal guitarist Yngwie J. Malmsteen, made by Fender. It has two DiMarzio YJM single-coil pickups (neck/middle) paired with a DiMarzio HS-3 Stack humbucker (bridge), a scalloped fingerboard with 21 Dunlop 6000 super-sized frets, a late-'60s large headstock and a brass nut. This Fender Artist signature guitar also features a 3-ply white/black/white pickguard, a deeper scalloped fingerboard, Bullet truss rod nut and machine screw neck mounting inserts.

Custom Shop Model

The Fender Custom Shop announced the release of the Yngwie Malmsteen "Play Loud" Stratocaster for November 11, 2008. The edition is to be a painstaking copy of the original Malmsteen stratocaster, which was used as the model in the creation of this edition. Each of the guitars in the edition was hand-built by Fender Master Builder John Cruz. The guitar will feature an extremely aged Aged Olympic White finish, and the hand-written "Play Loud" sticker on the upper horn. As on the original, the neck is lightly scalloped.
