Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle series
- Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle series
The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle is an action-puzzle game series, created by Kemco and released on the Nintendo Game Boy. It stars the popular Warner Brothers cartoon character Bugs Bunny. In the early stages of this series, the first two games were released only under the Bugs Bunny license in the United States. The original games featured Disney licenses, but another publisher, Capcom, had exclusive rights to release Disney properties in the U.S. on the NES system. So for these games to see a U.S. release, the character sprites were altered to use Bugs Bunny (and other slight changes) rather than the original graphics. In some cases the original games were released under different publishers in their original forms in the U.S.; one prime example being Mickey Mousecapades on the NES, which was published by Capcom. It wasn't until the Bugs Bunny/Mickey Mouse series was split in Japan that the Crazy Castle series was released there. Just before the release of Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle III, Japan released Bugs Bunny Collection, which for them was just a re-release of Mickey Mouse I and II, but with the Bugs Bunny sprite set and other minor updates (such as Super Game Boy support). The rest of the Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle series were released as original titles throughout all territories from this point forward.
