Death Rock /Darkwave band fromSalt Lake City ,Utah . The band was formed in the summer of2000 by core members Vision and Vyle.Biography
Tragic black was a concept thought of by Vision in the summer of 2000. Vyle (keyboards), Ashe (guitar) and Vision (vocal) formed a trinity and performed live for the first time on Halloween of 2000. Shortly afterwards, Toni (bass) was admitted into the group on bass. Six months later a new musician, Hex (rhythm guitar), was added and Ashe left on amicable terms. After three shows Hex left the band to pursue other goals and the line-up remained as Vision, Vyle, and Toni until the Spring of 2002. Later that year, Stich joined Tragic Black as the new six-stringed bassist. Due to problems with Toni, in the summer of 2003 he was removed.
In early 2004, Tragic Black teamed up with a producer named James (Seputus) to write and record
The Sixx Premonitions . The band went through a drastic musical progression during this time as a trio. This release is often held by fans as the holy grail of the bands musical work. James would later go on to join Tragic Black on drums in 2005.Stich vowed to leave Tragic Black in February 2004 to pursue a marriage and his own goals in Europe. Still, he stayed for five more months to play his last several shows but soon afterwards moved to London to live with his (now ex) wife Barb (DJane Darlin' Grave). Stich and Barb subsequently formed their own band,
All Gone Dead .Ashe was re-admitted into the band in the Spring of 2004 and played his first show with the band at the 2004
Rozz Williams memorial in Salt Lake City. In the fall of 2004, Hex returned to Salt Lake and re-joined the band on bass.In the Summer of 2005, Seputus joined Tragic Black on drums. The band began experimenting with elements of both electronic and live drums. After their self-released live record Burnt Black, the band was approached by
Strobelight Records to sign a deal. They released their third studio albumThe Decadent Requiem on February 17, 2006.In summer of 2006 Tragic Black made an official announcement on their Myspace announcing that their guitarist, Ashe, had been removed from the band under good terms and a new line-up was in place.
Recent times
In mid-2007, Hex left the band for unknown reasons and was replaced by Jesse James (who also plays guitar in the gothic rock band Redemption (bound), of which Ashe also plays guitar and Seputus plays drums). Tragic Black released a record titled "The Cold Caress" on August 17, 2007 on Strobelight Records and Shadowplay Records (Russia). New titled tracks from the album, "The Cold Caress", and "Bodies on the Avenue", are available for listen on their Myspace page currently.
In September 2007, Stich returned to Salt Lake City and was re-admitted into Tragic Black. He is now the second guitarist.
