Sword of Freedom

"Sword of Freedom" was a 1957 Sapphire Films and ITC Entertainment drama adventure series for a family audience. It ran for 39 half-hour monochrome episodes.

This swashbuckler was set in Renaissance Florence and followed the adventures of painter and swordsman Marco del Monte in his fight against the tyrannical Duke de Medici.

The theme music to "Sword of Freedom" was composed by Eric Spear, more famous for his haunting theme for "Coronation Street".
