Darrell Duffie

James Darrell Duffie is a Canadian economist. He is the Dean Witter Distinguished Professor of Finance at Stanford Graduate School of Business, and has been on the finance faculty at Stanford since receiving his Ph.D. from Stanford in 1984. He is considered by many to be one of the most influential financial economists of his era.

He is the author of Futures Markets, Dynamic Asset Pricing Theory and Credit Risk, with Kenneth Singleton. In 2003, Duffie was awarded the SunGard/IAFE Financial Engineer of the Year Award from the International Association of Financial Engineers. He has served on the editorial board of many journals, including Econometrica. He is also a fellow of the Econometric Society.
