The Parque México (English: "Mexico Park") is the popular name of one of the two
public park s located in theHipodromo Condesa neighborhood of Cuauhtémoc borough,Mexico City , the other one being "Parque España ." The park's official name is "ParqueJosé de San Martín ," in honor of the Argentine general.It has an area of 90,000 square
metres . It was built in 1927 as the centerpiece of the neighborhood's development plan on what was ahorse racing track (thats the reason why the neighbor's name is Colonia Hipodromo ( Hipodrome neighbor) and is surrounded by the avenida México street. It is characterized by itsArt Deco architecture and design. The most prominent features are theCharles Lindbergh open air theater, its naturalist park benches, and a duck pond.External links
