Urmila Devi Dasi, (also known as Dr. Edith E. Best), was born in 1955 in
New York City . She is a disciple ofA.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada , the founder of theInternational Society for Krishna Consciousness . Aside from her leadership among theGoverning Body Commission , she is known for having established many educational institutions within ISKCON.
