Timothy Patrick Murphy

Timothy Patrick Murphy

Timothy Patrick Murphy was born on November 3, 1959 in Hartford, Connecticut and was an American Film and Television actor who was best known for his role on the popular CBS prime time soap opera "Dallas" during the 1982 – 1983 season. He played the part of “Mickey Trotter”, the cousin of Southfork Ranch foreman Ray Krebbs until his character was killed off.

He started his acting career as an adolescent in several television commercials and from there he went on to act in a mini-series called “Centennial”. He did not find this role ideal, but it did however provide him with the opportunity to land more substantial roles. After this his mini-series and movies included “Search for Tomorrow”, the short-lived 1984 ABC prime-time drama "Glitter" as well as a couple of episodes of “Hotel”, “The Love Boat” and “Hunter”.

His most substantial role however was in the 1984 inspirational feature film "Sam's Son", the film biography of the life of actor Michael Landon in which he played the character of Gene Orowitz (the young Landon).

Timothy Patrick Murphy’s career was cut short when he died of AIDS on December 6, 1988 in Sherman Oaks, California at the age of 29.

His younger brother Patrick Sean Murphy (b.1965) was killed in the World Trade Center attacks of Sept 11 2001.
