Scott Young (born July 15, 1981 in Salt Lake City, Utah) is an American football offensive lineman in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns. He played college football at Brigham Young University. Before attending BYU, he was an All-American defensive tackle at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah. He is notable for a play in the Philadelphia Eagles' divisional round against the New Orleans Saints. Young came in as a replacement for the seriously injured all-pro right guard Shawn Andrews. With less than two minutes in the game, Young committed a false start penalty which negated an Eagles fourth down conversion. Young attended Hillcrest High School (Midvale) in Midvale, Utah and was a three-year letterman in football.He is the son of a police officer and an elementary school teacher. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer Young is an Eagle Scout with 64 merit badges.
