Richard Strauss's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D minor, Op. 8, was written in 1881-1882.

Although virtuosic, the first movement in particular is clearly influenced by the Classical period.Fact|date=December 2007

Structure

The composition consists of three movements:
# Allegro
# Lento, ma non troppo
# Rondo. Presto
