Ida Scudder School is situated in Virudampet, Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

It is named after the medical missionary, Ida Sophia Scudder, foremost of the Scudders in India, who came to Vellore and set up the Christian Medical College. The school was started in 1969 by a group of faculty of the Christian Medical College, when there were few schools in Vellore. They collected the initial capital for this venture by giving a month's salary. Some of the initial salaries were also paid by some of the parents.

Today the school is one of the best schools in Vellore, especially the ICSE schools in India. The school has produced exceptional students who lead very successful careers. Some of the best events around the year include the Parents-Teachers meeting, Annual sports day, March past, the Variety entertainment show and the Christmas program. The school has performed and won many prizes at the state and National level. In 2007-2008, the school bagged the State ISC/ICSE Championships in Basketball, athletics, and were the Semi-Finalists in Basketball at the All India Inter ICSE School Competitions. The school has around 1500 students, making it one of the largest in Vellore.

Vellore is a town in which is situated the Christian Medical College, Vellore Institute of Technology, the Government Thanthai Periyar Institute of Engineering and the Vellore Government Medical College.
