Nine Miles

Nine Miles is a reggae "band" started by Yoshiaki Manabe (真鍋吉明) of The Pillows. The name Nine Miles comes from the name of the town in which Bob Marley grew up in Jamaica. For information on the Nine Miles Attraction in Jamaica [http://www.my-island-jamaica.com/nine_miles_jamaica.html click here]

*Yoshiaki Manabe is the only member of the "band." Mostly everything is done by himself, including instruments played. He is also the lead guitarist for the Japanese rock band The Pillows. As a mixing engineer, Manabe has worked on albums by The Pillows and The Stereo Future. He enjoys reading in his free time and is an enormous fan of Bob Marley.

History

tyle and Influences

Was born in Hokkaido Prefecture on October 02, 1962. Blood type: A. Affectionately known as "Pee-chan." Was in a metal band called PERSIA before joining The Pillows in 1989. Manabe draws influence from reggae legend Bob Marley to build his own unique reggae sound. Manabe's constant use of reverbs, electronic effects, horns, among others are what give him his incredibly unique sound. The arrangement of instruments only adds to the uniqueness.
