- The Jumpmen (band)
The Jumpmen are an acapella group specializing in video game music. In 2005, they performed in
UCLA Spring Sing at theUniversity of California Los Angeles and took home a trophy for honorable mention. The video of their performance, which featured a medley of music fromSuper Mario Bros. , was widely viewed onyoutube.com . They were approached byG4 (TV Channel) and taped for an appearance on the pilot episode ofGeek-Out , but the show, unfortunately, did not air.History
The group's four original members met at UCLA, where they were involved in choir and theater groups. Hanibal, the group's founder, approached the other members with the idea of performing in Spring Sing. Jeff, a composition student, became the group's arranger. The Jumpmen's name, suggested by member Hanibal, is a reference to Jumpman, the original name of Nintendo character
