Romentino is a town of about 5000 inhabitants in the
province of Novara ,Piedmont (NorthernItaly ) 8 km East ofNovara and 40 km West ofMilano . It has an area of about 18 square kilometres.According to local historian Luigi Baldi, Romentino was founded by the
Romans after their conquest ofCisalpine Gaul (Northern Italy) in 2nd Century BCE. The name of the town was "Roma apud Ticinum", that meansRome nearTicino River, even if there are other hipothesys about the original name.External links
