Frank Weitenkampf, (1866 - 1962), was an American authority on
engraving and alibrary official, born inNew York State , where he studied for two years at the Art Students' League.Weitenkampf gained recognition as one of the foremost authorities on engraving in the
United States . In 1914,New York University gave him the degree ofL.H.D. Among his publications are: "How to Appreciate Prints", (fourth edition, 1911) and "American Graphic Art", (1912).He also contributed to several encyclopedias, among them the "
New International Encyclopedia ".
