Peter Loader also has the distinction of having claimed a Test hat-trick. He achieved this feat in the [http://www.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/1950S/1957/WI_IN_ENG/WI_ENG_T4_25-27JUL1957.html 4th] Test match against the West Indies in 1957. It was only the 12th hat-trick ever taken in Test cricket, the first after the Second World War, and it was another 38 years before Dominic Cork became the next England bowler to take a Test hat-trick.

After moving to Perth, Western Australia, he took up umpiring. Loader retired from umpiring at the top grade for the Western Australian Cricket Association(WACA) in 2007.
