After Words

After Words

"After Words" is a television series on C-SPAN's Book TV. Like "Booknotes" before it, the concept is "one book, one author, one hour". Unlike "Booknotes", a guest (an expert on the particular topic) acts as host, and discusses the book's topic with the author. "After Words" airs on Saturday at 8 p.m., with encores on Sunday at 6 p.m. and at 9 p.m.

Since its inception in 2005, the weekly one-hour "After Words" has featured such non-fiction authors as Jimmy Carter, Newt Gingrich, Bob Woodward, Natan Sharansky, Andrea Mitchell, Steve Forbes, Bill Richardson, Madeleine Albright, Ari Fleischer, Bob Dole, John Kasich, Simon Schama, George Soros, Kevin Phillips, Fred Barnes, Haynes Johnson, Sister Helen Prejean, George Weigel, Barbara Ehrenreich, Rahm Emmanuel and Susan Jacoby.

Interviewers/hosts have included Brian Williams, Tom Daschle, Juan Williams, Susan Eisenhower, Jack Valenti, Marvin Kalb, James Lee Witt, Richard Cohen, Wesley Clark, Naomi Wolf, Peter Beinart, Georgie Anne Geyer, Roger Mudd, Bill Press, Hadassah Lieberman, Linda Chavez, Alive Rivlin, Victoria Toensing, Richard Norton Smith, Eleanor Holmes Norton and Nick Gillespie.
