"The Myth of Fingerprints" is a 1997 film written and directed by Bart Freundlich. Set in New England, the film tells the story of a dysfunctional family reuniting for Thanksgiving.

The film is named after track 11, "All Around The World Or The Myth Of The Fingerprints" on Paul Simon's stellar Graceland album, released in August 1986. Simon's song is concerned with dispelling the "myth" that people are different the world over: "I've seen them all, and, man, / They're all the same."
