Jordanhill is a mostly
middle-class area of the West End of the city ofGlasgow ,Scotland . It consists largely of terraced housing dating from the early to mid 20th century, with some detached and semi-detached homes as well as local authority flats.The area was home to the Jordanhill Teacher Training College, which subsequently became part of the

Jordanhill School is a local comprehensive school which regularly ranks amongst the top-performing state secondary schools in Scotland [http://www.jordanhill.glasgow.sch.uk/] . Jordanhill has two churches, both on Woodend Drive, off Crow Road. These are Jordanhill Parish Church (Presbyterian) and [http://www.allsaints-holycross.com All Saints Scottish Episcopal Church] (Anglican). Both churches are used for a variety of community and social events, in addition to regular worship. All Saints is also home to Westbourne Gardens Nursery School and the 178th Glasgow Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Also in the local area are several Boys' Brigade companies, including the [http://www.130thglasgow.co.uk 130th Glasgow] and the 272nd Glasgow. It also home to the 72nd Scout, Cub and Beaver troop, the biggest of its size in Glasgow.
The two pubs in the locality are "The Bridge",and "The Three Craws" (Scots: "crows"). Both are situated on Crow Road, near
Jordanhill railway station .Jordanhill is directly adjacent to Victoria Park, one of the largest green spaces in Glasgow and home to the Fossil Grove, an area of fossilized prehistoric tree stumps.
Rugby, Leisure and Sports
Jordanhill is also home to Scotland's newest independent rugby club, Jordanhill Phoenix R.F.C. formed in April 2007. There are a number of parks in Jordanhill and the immediate vicinity, Burlington Gate park and Victoria Park being 2 specific examples. There is also a large playing field on the Jordanhill Campus that has hosted many games of football and rugby in the past.
