John Holloway (poet)

John Holloway (born 1920-died 29 August 1999 at the age of 79) was an English poet, critic and academic. Born in South London and educated at the University of Oxford (New College), he served in the artillery and intelligence during the Second World War and then pursued an academic career at the Universities of Oxford, Aberdeen and Cambridge, where he became a fellow of Queens' College and eventually a professor.
