C.J. Snare (born December 14, 1964 in Washington, DC) is a rock singer best known for being the frontman of the band FireHouse. He also appears periodically with the band Scrap Metal.

Biography

Snare is the son of Clayton and Barbara Snare. He has two brothers and one sister. From an early age, he showed interest in being a singer. He is a classically trained pianist. Eventually, his family moved to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania where he attended Lock Haven High School. After graduating, he moved to Orlando, Florida, where he studied theatre at Rollins College, but changed to a career in music after a while.

Some time later, he moved to the Carolinas, where he met bassist Perry Richardson. Together, they formed a band called "Maxx Warrior" and eventually formed FireHouse with guitarist Bill Leverty and drummer Michael Foster. The band enjoyed great success during their initial years with several #1 songs and 16 gold and platinum records around the world (see main article about the band.)

Snare and FireHouse still tour frequently world wide and are still recording albums. He is currently working on a project set for release in 2009 with UK guitarist, Chris Green.

Snare keeps his voice in shape by warming up before shows. He doesn't smoke and says that he doesn't drink any alcohol while he's on the road. He currently resides in Wisconsin with his family.
