village andcivil parish inNottinghamshire , about 10 miles south ofNottingham . Until the 1960s there had not been any building in the village for 100 years. The parish church ofSt Peter andSt Paul was rebuilt at a cost of £10,000 in the period 1888-1895. Widmerpool Hall on the north side of the village was built in 1872. It is currently undergoing renovation for residential purposes, and was previously the HQ of the AA Patrol Service Training School [Pevsner, Nikolaus. 1979. "The Buildings of England:Nottinghamshire".Harmondsworth, Middx. Penguin.] . The development of Widmerpool Hall will provide 9 apartments, 11 mews style houses and 4 detached houses.There is a brook called Fairway Brook passing through Main Street and Old Hall Drive which joins the Trent near Newark.
