After considerable success in junior competitions, Kostelić has had a World Cup career alternating between triumph and injury. His main accomplishments include a World Championship gold medal in slalom in 2003, an Olympic silver medal in combined in 2006, and eight World Cup victories (seven in slalom and one in
super combined ).On
14 February 2006 , he won a silver medal at the Winter Olympics inTurin ,Italy , in the combined. Kostelić is only the seventeenth man in World Cup history to win World Cup points in all of the sport's five disciplines.
