Ninestiles Technology College is a secondary school situated in Acocks Green, Birmingham, England. It is a mixed comprehensive Technology College with 1,400 students, including 200 in the sixth form. It has over 1,000 laptops and the largest wireless network of any school in Europe. [cite web|url=http://extwww.sgfl.org.uk/whiteboards/conference.htm|title=Conference|publisher=sgfl|accessdate=2008-04-30] The current headmistress is Mrs Quinn.

It is the lead school in a federation headed by Sir Dexter Hutt, and associated with a consultancy company "Ninestiles Plus". The school was granted Technology College status in 1997 and became a foundation school in 1999.

Ninestiles School is also connected with Fox Hollies Leisure Centre, giving the school access to a swimming pool, squash and badminton facilities, an astroturf pitch and a large field generally used for rugby, cricket and other outdoor sports.

tructure

In 2005, the school changed the length of its lessons to two and a half hours apiece. This change was intended to allow for subjects to be taught in greater depth and for guest speakers to come into school. The change required some adaptation on the part of the school's faculty, including rotating subjects and planning extended trips. At the beginning of the 2007-2008 school term, Ninestiles School changed to a system that with pupils from different year groups mixed in the same Forms. The school has said that this will be an effective way for pupils to bond with other students of different ages, and also have the older kids helping the younger ones. Additional upgrades to the school include a bigger Student Support Centre, new carpets, walls and furniture. Since 2007 there has also been a new end of year trips routine called challenge week where the students have an opportunity to go on a week of trips/activities . Challenge Week has become quite popular with the students stating "it's a fun way to experience new things". However, this is something the school likes to say, most do not like challenge week and simply take the week off.

Laptops

The school previously had a laptop policy called AAL (Anywhere, Anytime Learning) that allowed the students to lease laptops through the school. However this was abandoned in 2006 as new laptops and units to store them were bought, for use in school, for nearly every classroom without computers set up in them.Fact|date=February 2007 There are now 10 laptops in nearly every classroom with the exception of classrooms in the ict block.
