William Walrond, 1st Baron Waleran

William Hood Walrond, 1st Baron Waleran PC DL JP (26 February 1849 – 17 May 1925) was a British Conservative politician.

The son of Sir John Walrond, 1st Baronet and Hon. Frances Caroline Hood, youngest daughter of Samuel Hood, 2nd Baron Bridport, he succeeded his father in the Baronetcy in 1889.

He served as a Captain in the Grenadier Guards, retiring in 1872. He sat as Conservative Member of Parliament for East Devonshire from 1880-1885, and for Tiverton from 1885–1906. During this time he was a junior Lord of the Treasury from 1885–1886 and from 1886–1892, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury from 1895–1902, and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster from 1902–1905.

He was appointed a Privy Counsellor in 1899, and was raised to the peerage as Baron Waleran, of Uffculme, in 1905.
