Þórður Guðjónsson, also known as Doddi Gudjonsson, (born October 14, 1973 in Akranes) is an Icelandic footballer.

Club career

He started his career with local team ÍA, and moved to German team VfL Bochum in 1993. He played there until 1997, when he moved to K.R.C. Genk. In 2000 he moved to UD Las Palmas, but saw limited playing action and was loaned out to Derby County and Preston North End in England. He proceeded to play for Bochum from 2002 to the 2004/05 season, in the middle of which (January 2005) he was signed by Stoke City, a club with a history of Icelandic players and coaches, including Gudjonsson's younger brother Bjarni Guðjónsson and father Guðjón Þórðarsson.

International career

He made his debut for Iceland in a September 1993 World Cup qualifier against Luxemburg. He went on to earn 58 caps, scoring 13 goals for the national team. [ [http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/ijs-recintlp.html Iceland - Record International Players] - RSSSF]
