Frank Lindsay

Franklin A. Lindsay (born 1916) is a former spy and business executive. Lindsay graduated from Stanford University in 1938 and ended up working for the Office of Strategic Services during World War II. He was active in training partisans in Yugoslavia and Ukraine, parachuting into the latter country on numerous occasions during the war. His book "Beacons in the Night: With the OSS and Tito's Partisans in Wartime Yugoslavia" describes his experiences.

Later, Lindsay grew disillusioned with the OSS and the CIA, and went into business developing high-definition cameras and other spy equipment at the Itek Company. He was an advisor, along with Henry Kissinger, to Richard Nixon as he developed his transition plan for the U.S. presidency in 1968.

He and his wife Margot Coffin Lindsay (the sister of William Sloane Coffin) have two daughters Catherine and Alison (deceased), and one son John. As of 2005, they live in Lexington, Massachusetts.
