West Adelaide Football Club in theSANFL , Edwards made his AFL debut in 1995 and has since established himself as one of the AFL's most consistent midfielders despite not winning any major accolades to date [cite web|title=Tyson Edwards, unappreciated until the near end|publisher=bigfooty.com |url=http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=487370] .His greatest honour to date has been featuring in Adelaide's 1997 and 1998 premiership sides. As at the end of 2007, Edwards has played 261 games and kicked 162 goals.
He is married to Mandy (who was part of a very public altercation with Rachael McLeod - wife of Edwards' teammate
Andrew McLeod ) and they have 3 sons - Jackson, Luke and Brodie.In 2008 he placed 4th in the Crows Club Champion voting with 137 [cite web|title=2008 Club Champion Votes|publisher=afc.com.au |url=http://www.afc.com.au/tabid/4417/Default.aspx?newsid=68591] again highlighting his consistency within the playing group.
