Steeton andSilsden inWest Yorkshire ,England . It is situated closer to Steeton than to Silsden, and is on theAiredale Line . The station, and all trains serving it, are operated byNorthern Rail . Steeton & Silsden closed in 1965 but reopened in 1990 [cite book |last= Bairstow |first= Martin |title=Railways Through Airedale & Wharfedale |year= 2004 |isbn= 1-871944-28-7 ] .Because the station is the first station covered by Metro subsidised ticketing on the line in to Leeds and Bradford from Skipton, there are problems with car parking at the station. It is hoped that an extension to the Metro area, to include Skipton, will alleviate this. Monday to Saturday daytimes, there are half-hourly services from Skipton to both Leeds and Bradford Forster Square. Evenings there is a half-hourly service to Leeds and hourly to Bradford. Sundays, the service is hourly to Leeds and two-hourly to Bradford.
These services are normally provided by Class 333 EMUs.
In addition on Mondays to Saturdays one of each of the through services towards Morcambe and Carlisle stop in the evening. These are served by a variety of
