:Kanon has an illness, she ran away from home because of it; she camped out in a cherry tree when she heard Akiyoshi playing "Kanon". Kanon is a big fan of Akiyoshi, ever since hearing him at the last competition. She falls in love with Akiyoshi. Kanon pretends to be the fairy of the cherry tree. Later, it is revealed that she is really the daughter of the creator of "Kanon".The song was named after her. She starts to run away after Akiyoshi finds out about who she really was. Akiyoshi catches up to her and says he loves her.

;nihongo|Atsushi Serizawa|芹沢 篤|Serizawa Atsushi:The writer of "Kanon". He goes to the contest and congratulates Akiyoshi for winning, and introduces Kanon (for what he thinks is the first time) when he explains of Kanon's condition.

;nihongo|Matsuba|松葉:Akiyoshi's "rival". Like Akiyoshi, Matsuba is also like a piano prodigy. He can play "Kanon" perfectly, but lacks the "essence" of "Kanon". Matsubba does not antagonize Akiyoshi as a much as a rival and near the end he says he envies him for not caring if he won or not.
