Allen Lanier

Allen Lanier

Allen Lanier (born June 25, 1946) is a member of Blue Öyster Cult. Lanier plays keyboards and rhythm guitar. He currently resides in Manhattan.

Allen wrote the Blue Öyster Cult songs "In Thee", "Searchin" "For Celine", "Tenderloin" and "Lonely Teardrops", among others. He was a onetime romantic partner of Patti Smith.

Lanier started to perform with the band (then known as "Soft White Underbelly") in 1967. He left the band in 1985, but returned in 1987. He has not performed with the band since the fall of 2006.
