Gwinear-Gwithian

Gwinear-Gwithian is a civil parish in the Penwith district of Cornwall, United Kingdom. It includes the villages of Gwinear, Reawla, Rosewarne, Connor Downs, and Gwithian.

Gwinear is situated on a hill with impressive views from the northern end of the village down through the Angarrack valley. There are a couple of local shops, including a post office, and also a local pub, the Royal Standard. Gwithian was also the former administrative centre of the Penwith Hundred.

Local Government

For the purposes of local government Gwinear-Gwithian is a parish council and elects councillors every 4 years. The principal local authorities in the area are Penwith District Council and the Cornwall County Council.
