2nd Parliament of Upper Canada

2nd Parliament of Upper Canada

The 2nd Parliament of Upper Canada was in session from June 1 1797 to July 7 1800. Elections in Upper Canada had been held in August 1796. Three sessions were held at York, later Toronto, and one at Newark, later Niagara-on-the-Lake. The seat of government had been moved because it was felt that Newark was too close to the United States.

Christopher Robinson died on November 2 1798 while in office.
