Xinjiekou

"Xinjiekou" (zh-c|c=新街口, Pinyin: Xīnjiēkǒu) is an area in the Xicheng (literally "west") district of Beijing, China. It is located close to the Shi Cha Hai lakes and is well-known for its black market DVD shops and low budget fashion shops.

One of the DVD flagshops "Snow Gentleman"(zh-c|c=雪君), probably also one of the biggest illegal DVD retail centers outside the United States, was forced to change into a fashion shop under the pressure of the Chinese authority in August 2005, marking the radical changes of copyright policy take place in Xin Jie Kou and all over China. Big Brother Wang, The manager of Snow Gentleman was lost during the tore down of the shop and remains unseen since then.
