Peter Berkowitz is an American
political scientist , presently holding a fellowship at theHoover Institution and an associate professorship oflaw atGeorge Mason University School of Law . He holds aJ.D. and aPh.D. in political science fromYale University ; an M.A. inphilosophy from theHebrew University of Jerusalem ; and aB.A. inEnglish literature fromSwarthmore College .Berkowitz became a minor academic celebrity when he unsuccessfully sued
Harvard University after he was denied tenure in the Harvard department of Government.
