List of Sydney FC players

This is a list of football (soccer) players who have played for Sydney FC. It includes players that have played at least one match, either as a starting player or a substitute, for Sydney in the A-League competition and the finals series. The Pre-Season Cup competition is not included.

The A-League is the premier football competition in Australia. It was founded in 2004, and Sydney were one of the eight inaugural clubs to participate in the new competition.cite news

*Defender Iain Fyfe has played the most A-League games for Sydney at 69 matches. This is just ahead of goalkeeper Clint Bolton with 68. Notable players

Sydney have had a number of internationally-capped players represent them in their two seasons since forming prior to the 2005–06 A-League season. This has included 10 members of the Australian national team. Sydney have also had one contracted Trinidad and Tobago international, Dwight Yorke, alongside Kazuyoshi Miura of Japan and Jeremy Brockie of New Zealand.

A number of other players have been formally signed to Sydney FC but did not appear in an A-League match. Generally these have been on short term contracts.
* Justin Pasfield (GK) - reserve goalkeeper for 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons but restricted to the reserves bench by Bolton's consistency.
* Wade Oostendorp (DF) - signed full-time contract for the 2005-06 season but did not make an A-League appearance.
* Mitchell Blowes (GK) - reserve goalkeeper signed for 2005 Oceania Club Championship and later for 2005 FIFA Club World Championship.
* Todd Brodie (MF) - signed for 2005 Oceania Club Championship.
* Dustin Wells (MF) - signed for 2005 FIFA Club World Championship.
* Alejandro Salazar (MF) - appeared in the 2005 Oceania Club Championship campaign but was released midway through the 2005-06 season without making an A-League appearance.
* Tallan Martin (MF) - signed on a short-term contract as injury cover, but was an unused substitute.
* Noel Spencer (MF) - signed for the 2007 AFC Champions League campaign, but was released before the 2007-08 season.
* Luka Glavas (MF) - signed for the 2007 AFC Champions League campaign, but was released before the 2007-08 season.
* Dean Bouzanis (GK) - signed on loan from Liverpool FC during the 2007 AFC Champions League campaign, but loan was terminated early reportedly due to salary cap issues.
* Michael Herbet (GK) - signed as short-term cover during the 2007-08 season, but was an unused substitute.
* Ryan Walsh (MF) - signed for the 2008 Pan Pacific Championship.
