John Ash (divine)

John Ash (divine)

John Ash (1724 - 1779) was a Baptist minister and author of an English dictionary and grammar books.

Ash's dictionary was valuable for the number of obsolete and provincial words contained in it. It seemed that "Ash understood much better than Lowth what it took to write a grammar for children." [7]
