*"Dido", a play in Latin by William Gager, is performed by students at Christ Church, Oxford on June 12. "Rivales", another Latin play by Gager, is acted by the students of the college on June 11. "Rivales", criticized for its "filth," would never be printed and does not survive; but it would be revived for two performances in 1592, one before Queen Elizabeth.
