Shabtai Shavit (Hebrew: שבתי שביט) was the Director General of the
Mossad from1989 to1996 .Shavit first joined the
Israel Defense Forces , where he served in theSayeret Matkal and from 1958 to 1959 he was the Military Governor of the Southern Command. Herzliya ,Israel in 2001, and also President and CEO of EMG Israel and Chairman of Athena. Shavit has also continued to work in government roles, including as Advisor to the Israeli National Security Council, Advisor to the Sub-Committee on intelligence of theKnesset , Committee on Foreign Affairs and National Security, and as a member of the N.Y.F.D.
