During
World War II , the airport hosted the "No. 31 Bombing and Gunnery School" for theBritish Commonwealth Air Training Plan , operatingAvro Anson ,Fairey Battle ,Bristol Bolingbroke , andWestland Lysander aircraft. In1953 , the Prince Edward Flying club took over operation of the airport. The airport was known asCFB Picton .Sometime in 2008, the ownership of the airport changed to Loch Sloy Holdings Ltd.
