Stewart Sutin

Dr. Stewart Sutin is the current president of the Community College of Allegheny County in Pennsylvania. Under Sutin, the college has been criticized for cutting class offerings while raising the salaries of administrators by double digit percentages.

Sutin earned his doctorate in Latin American history from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975. He was previously employed by Mellon Financial Corporation.

In 2004, Sutin received a $20,000 bonus ( [http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04325/414903.stm] ), while the college was in a self-described financial crisis ( [http://www.ccac.edu/default.aspx?id=147648] ). Sutin was criticized by Allegheny County chief executive Dan Onorato for his decision making, including expensive trips and CCAC-paid membership in the exclusive Duquesne Club ( [http://kdka.com/local/local_story_322181814.html] ). Sutin has pledged to not renew his membership to the downtown club.
